EPW - Joseph Johnson, Liverpool, lever fusee, 53mm, 14K gold or better (tested) OF original consular case with misleading "18" marking, white enamel dial with 15-second seconds-register, hacking slide under dial near 7, lever escapement, diamond endstone, ornately engraved balance cock with "Patent" marking to foot, gilt mvt with gilt locking dust-cap, s#2355. Gross weight of assembled watch 91.2 dwt (141.8 g).
CONDITION:
Mvt: NR, chain is broken, balance will tick if some reverse pressure is given at fusee, fine-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, excellent gilt tone, profuse fine scratches to plate inside regulator index, scratches to plate around pillar pins, some fine scratches elsewhere; dial with long light hl between 9 and 5 which passes through seconds-register, small flake to rim of seconds-register hole, fine scratch between 12 and 1; excellent hands; case shows medium wear, ding to left center of rear, engine turning to rear substantially lost with only small portions remaining lightly evident; tight bow; good glass crystal.
